Beecarnica.com is a website of Slovenian Queen Bee Breeders Association, which unites Slovenian beekeepers that breed authentic Carnie queens of excellent quality.

The queens are bred according to the National Breeding Program for the Carniolan. The goal of the selection is maintaining the best qualities of the Carnie bee while increasing honey yields and productivity. All queens are mated, marked and receive a certificate of authenticity.

As the home of Apis mellifera carnica, Slovenia has protected the native honey bee as an autochton species.

WHY CHOOSE CARNIOLAN BEE QUEENS?

Carniolan honey bees are the second most popular bee species in the world. They have some excellent qualities:

CALM

Carniolan bees are gentle and behave calmly on the comb.

HIGH YIELDS

The spring development is rapid. The bees are excellent at collecting early spring honey and finding forest honey.

RESISTANT

Carniolan bees can survive harsh winters and are more remarkably resistant to some bee diseases.

SLOVENIAN QUEEN BEE BREEDERS ASSOCIATION

The Slovenian Queen Bee Breeders Association unites beekeepers that focus on breeding pure Carniolan queen bees of excellent quality. The queens are traditionally reared in small mating hives. The breeding process is supervised by the Beekeeping Association of Slovenia and the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, according to the National Breeding program for the Carniolan Bee. The efforts of the Associaton are focused on preserving the good characteristics of Apis mellifera carnica, achieving higher yields and more resistant colonies.
